A Big Room Session-Kevin O'Brien and Sara Schwab

JD Media has always been rooted by our passion for storytelling. Doesn't matter whether it is telling the story of two people coming together to become married, or even a small 30 second spot about what makes a restaurant special. But we never really have dipped into the realm of music videos in the recent past.

Enter Kevin O'Brien. John and Kevin have worked together for about a year and a half and have thrown back the idea of making a music video together. So it was only inevitable until we were setting up a session with both Kevin and the talented Sara Schwab.

Behind the Book and Bar in Portsmouth, in a large room or "Big Room" as we wanted to call it, we set up. The plan: film four songs, each of them being one raw take. With new gear in hand and some very talented people, we set out to make that happen.

We only got through three. That being said, it was a great work in progress, a learning experience and something we are proud to share. Not a week later we decided to take our even newer equipment (new cameras, YES) and go tackle the last song, "Ghost".

Instead of returning to the Big Room, we decided that the Portsmouth Harbor would be a great way to test our equipment and add a little bit of diversity. The end product, is something we are quite proud of.

We truly enjoyed working with Kevin and Sara on this one and hope to work with them again soon. Over the course of the next few weeks we will be releasing a new original song from these guys. This week check out "Mourning Dove" below and stay tuned for another next week.
