JOSH DEMEULE

I have always enjoyed being creative, so going into film was really a no brainer for me. I wanted to be a marine biologist for the longest time, but in high school that all changed. I took a few courses in my junior year of high school and realized I enjoyed making movies. My friends and I were constantly over each other's houses and we always had a camera near by.
In 2010, I began attending Keene State College and took right to their film program. By the end of my freshmen year, I was racing all over the seacoast making my first collegiate film, What If. The film landed me a Teaching Assistant position at the school the following year. My college years whizzed by and my passion for filmmaking took many twists and turns. My Junior year, I joined the senior thesis project, St. Osmund's. I signed on as Production Manager and was responsible for finding locations all over New England as well as managing our budget. That year taught me a great deal about the business of filmmaking, and also gave me the experience to become a Director for the following senior thesis. Myself and Ben Johnson, co-directed a full length episode of a concept series called Limbo.
Limbo has since been officially selected for the International Student Film Festival in North Hollywood. On the event side, I have been filming weddings and events for nearly 3 years.
I first began filming weddings for a close friend's father's wedding in 2011.That same year I also began filming the famous Seacoast classic rock band, The Spectras at the Hampton Beach Shell. For 3 years, John and I would film their summer concert, concluding with their final performance with the late Dick Ray at the Hampton Beach Casino. I have also freelanced on numerous outside projects, including a commercial for the local business, Captain's Cove Adventure Golf. While in Keene I was a production assistant on HGTV's Pumpkin Wars. I also have worked for Keene State College's Redfern Art Center for four years and have a well rounded background in technical theater that I use to freelance at the Seacoast Rep in Portsmouth, NH.
When not working on films, I find myself still obsessing about movies. Whether it's catching up on the latest blockbuster or even just hanging with friends, the discussion often turns into some film related topic. I enjoy photography a lot and been trying to broaden my abilities with it in recent months. Below you can find samples of both my personal films as well as my budding photography skills.
